Modern Equestrian Wedding Inspiration at The Lodge on Brier Creek — now featured on Wedding Chicks! I am beyond thrilled to finally share one of the most meaningful projects I’ve had the honor of bringing to life. Our Seeing this vision come full circle and celebrated on such a prestigious wedding blog is an incredible honor.
This shoot began with a message from Jenna at The Lodge on Brier Creek. She had an idea for a collaborative shoot on the property and asked if I would like to be involved. What started as a simple conversation turned into something truly special. With Jenna’s encouragement and trust, I was able to bring creative direction to the table, helping to shape the look, feel, and flow of the day. From building the mood board and coordinating with vendors to overseeing the timeline and capturing it all through my lens, I was deeply involved in the process and incredibly proud of what we created together.
When I say this shoot is close to my heart, I mean it. It allowed me to step into a space that was more than just photography — it was about visual storytelling, styling, and bringing a concept to life with purpose. Every decision, from the floral design to the gown selection, was made with a clear vision in mind.
The Vision
The inspiration for the shoot came from a blend of timeless countryside elegance and refined modern wedding design. I envisioned a look that was both elevated and grounded — something that could feel luxurious while staying connected to the natural beauty of the venue. We combined structured, fashion-forward elements with lush textures and bold design moments.
The Lodge on Brier Creek, with its rolling hills, peaceful setting, and high-end rustic charm, provided the perfect backdrop. The natural landscape wasn’t just a setting — it played an active role in shaping the aesthetic of the day.

Planning & Execution of Equestrian Wedding Inspiration
While I was initially brought on as the photographer, my role grew organically into something more collaborative and creative. Working closely with Jenna, I helped guide the overall concept and design elements, while also assembling a dream vendor team who helped bring everything to life. Every creative brought their unique artistry and experience to the table, and I’m so grateful for their contributions.
The shoot took place just after a brief summer shower, which brought out the most vibrant greens in the landscape and added a richness to every frame. As the skies cleared, we were met with golden light, gentle breezes, and the most beautiful atmosphere for what turned out to be an unforgettable day.

Styling Details That Made This Shoot Shine:
The Bride: Our model bride wore a modern gown with structured details and clean lines that felt both fashion-forward and timeless. Her hair was soft and romantic with an effortless updo, and her makeup featured bold eyes and a natural, glowing complexion — striking without feeling overdone.
The Tablescape: Set against the natural beauty of the lodge, the table featured a green floral-patterned linen that brought texture and interest without overpowering the other elements. We used woven wicker chargers, white and clear glass dinnerware, and gold flatware to tie it all together with a curated but approachable elegance.
Floral Design: The florals were anything but understated. A single grand, sculptural centerpiece anchored the table, filled with movement and texture. The bride’s bouquet, composed entirely of calla lilies, was bold, modern, and dramatic in the most beautiful way.
Stationery: The invitation suite was modern, clean, and subtly textured. We chose a warm, neutral palette with a mix of refined typefaces and soft edges for a contemporary yet timeless feel.
The Horse: One of the most moving parts of the day was incorporating a beautiful brown horse into the shoot. Watching our bride walk beside this magnificent animal was symbolic of strength and elegance, and the imagery captured in those moments is some of my favorite to date.

Vendor Appreciation
Of course, none of this would have come together without the deeply talented team of creatives who helped bring this dream to life. I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to every vendor who showed up with heart, passion, and vision. Whether you were styling, setting up, fluffing dresses, or capturing behind-the-scenes moments, your contributions were invaluable.
One of my favorite parts of this industry is the opportunity to collaborate with others who genuinely care about their craft. Each vendor was chosen not just for their talent but because I trusted their eye, energy, and professionalism. The final result is a reflection of what can happen when creatives trust one another and show up for the work.
Why This Shoot Matters
Styled shoots aren’t just about pretty pictures. They’re about pushing creative boundaries, showcasing what’s possible, and inspiring couples to imagine what their own celebration could look like. For me, this shoot was about blending high-end design with emotional storytelling. It was about honoring tradition while embracing modernity. And most of all, it was about creating something that feels deeply personal and visually impactful.
If you’re a couple drawn to intentional design, meaningful imagery, and thoughtful storytelling, I would love to connect. Shoots like this are more than editorial — they’re proof of what can happen when vision meets heart.
