Exciting News: Now Offering Fresh 48 Hospital Newborn Photography

As a mother who deeply values important memories, I’ve always felt a pull toward Fresh 48 hospital newborn photography. But I quickly realized that the traditional, posed style of newborn portraits didn’t fully resonate with me. I’ve always been drawn to a more documentary-style newborn photography approach — one that captures honest, emotional, real-life moments. After over a year of feeling called to serve families in this meaningful way, I’m excited to announce that I’m now offering Fresh 48 hospital newborn photography sessions that truly align with my values and the client experience I strive to create.

These intimate, in-hospital photo sessions capture your newborn’s first hours of life — the sweet, sleepy expressions, the tiny fingers and toes, and the raw, emotional connections between you and your baby. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I’m honored to help you preserve those fleeting first moments.

Now Serving the Following Hospitals:

Fresh 48 hospital newborn sessions take place within the first 48 hours after birth, while you’re still in the hospital. Unlike traditional newborn sessions, these are not posed — they are organic and natural, focusing on your new baby’s details and your family’s emotional connection. I will be there to capture things like feedings, baby’s first bath, introduction of siblings, and other special moments.

As a mom and a photographer, I know how fast those early moments go by. My goal is to create timeless imagery that tells the story of your child’s very first few days earthside. As someone who regrets not booking my own Fresh 48 Hospital Newborn Session, I understand the deep value of this time and I can promise you that this is not an investment you will ever regret.

How to Officially Book Your Session

To officially reserve your Fresh 48 session, both of the following are required:

  • A signed contract outlining the terms of service, session details, and policies.
  • A 50% retainer payment to secure your session window.

Once both the contract and retainer are received, your due date will be officially added to my calendar and I will remain on-call surrounding that time. This ensures I can be as flexible as possible based on your delivery timeline.

Because of the nature of this type of session, I require a minimum 1-hour booking. Hospital stays and birth timelines are unpredictable, so flexibility and proactive planning are key. While I always do everything in my power to be there for your session, Fresh 48 sessions cannot be guaranteed due to scheduling being up in the air. I will pencil you in for your expected delivery timeline and do everything I can to make it work.

To reserve your session:

  • Booking must be completed 1–2 months prior to your due date or scheduled c-section.
  • A 50% non-refundable retainer is required at the time of booking. This payment secures your spot on my calendar and allows me to prepare around your expected delivery. It also keeps a one-week window on my calendar open to be able to accommodate changes in your birth plan.
  • The retainer is only refundable in the rare event that I am unable to make it to your hospital within 48 hours of the birth, if I am sick, or something else happens that is under the scope of our contract.
  • The remaining balance would be due in order for you to receive the edited images from our session.
  • If I have received the final balance, you will receive 5-10 edited images within 24 hours of our session and the rest of the gallery would be delivered within 3 weeks.

Because this type of session is time-sensitive and relies on birth timing, I ask all clients to maintain active communication with me as labor begins and progresses. This includes:

  • Notifying me as soon as you begin early labor
  • Keeping me updated through active labor and arrival at the hospital
  • Confirming the baby’s birth as soon as possible
  • Making sure to keep me in the loop regarding hospital details and room numbers.

I will be on-call surrounding your estimated due date and will do my very best to coordinate quickly once labor is underway. Your communication is key to helping ensure we capture those irreplaceable early moments.

Gifting a Fresh 48 Session

If you’re a family member or friend of an expecting mother, a Fresh 48 session makes for a deeply meaningful and unforgettable gift. There’s something incredibly special about giving the gift of memories — a way to document one of the most emotional and fleeting moments in a family’s life.

These sessions can be purchased as a gifted experience, and I offer digital gift certificates that can be sent directly to the expecting parent or presented at a baby shower.

Please note: while the session may be gifted, the expectant mother (or birthing parent) must be the primary communicator when it comes to scheduling, signing the contract, and staying in touch during labor and delivery. Due to the time-sensitive nature of Fresh 48 sessions, clear and consistent communication is essential to deliver the best experience possible.

I’m always happy to coordinate with loved ones behind the scenes to make the gifting process smooth and special. If you’d like to arrange a session as a gift, just send me an email and I’ll walk you through the steps!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is a Fresh 48 hospital newborn photography session?
A Fresh 48 session is a lifestyle photography session that takes place in the hospital within the first 48 hours after your baby is born. It’s designed to capture real, emotional moments — the details, connections, and environment that mark your baby’s earliest hours.

How is this different from traditional newborn photography?
Fresh 48 sessions are documentary-style. They are not posed and don’t involve props or studio lighting. Instead, I focus on authentic moments — feedings, snuggles, hospital bracelets, and first family introductions.

Can I still do a newborn session later?
Absolutely! Fresh 48 does not replace a traditional newborn session — it complements it beautifully by telling the very beginning of your baby’s story.

What if I deliver early or unexpectedly?
That’s why communication is key. As long as you keep me informed and I’m available, I’ll do everything in my power to be there within the 48-hour window. Early delivery will not affect your eligibility for a session unless logistics prevent it.

Can siblings and other family members be included?
Yes! I encourage siblings, partners, and even grandparents to be involved. These photos are about connection — not just baby, but the people who already love them.

What if hospital policies change or restrict visitors?
I always follow hospital protocols and will adjust accordingly. If I’m unable to enter due to restrictions, we will discuss options or refunds based on our signed contract.
